  I attended a 10 course "banquet" at the Casa imperial. We did not have any drinks provided to us after the second course. When a drink was requested around the fourth course, the staff indicated it would come "later". Apparently, six more courses wasn't enough time (even with reminders). Our visit was remarkable for the poor service. I wouldn't come here again.

  The elaborate architecture and décor certainly capture your attention, but that's where the high style ends. The long lineups during weekends allow the restaurant to charge exorbitant prices for mediocre dim sum, and the staff to treat you like the cattle they serve in the beef rice noodle roll. Selection is extensive, but you wouldn't get a chance to review much of it, as the waiter will be there urging you to order, in an attempt to get you in and out of the place as quickly as humanly (or bovinely) possible. Between the packed tables and the crowd lining up to get in, the place is noisy and buzzing with waitstaff traffic, more akin to a fast food joint than a fine dining establishment. On the weekend, you'd be lucky to find a parking spot. Might as well park across the street at the T&T plaza. After all, you'd still be waiting 20+ minutes to get a table anyway. I suspect many people only come here so as to say they've been here. Perhaps the restaurant should change its name to "Pearls Before Moo Shu Pork".

  I went there on my own, the portions are intended for at least two, quite generous. The service was excellent and the food was quite good also. Had jellyfish appetizer, mixed seafood hot-pot and mixed bean desert, I appreciated all.

  Food is mediocre. Prices a bit high for the quality. Decor is getting more rough by the day with many light fixtures falling apart. Not well maintained.
