- ★ ★ ★ ★ ★I have been going to the Kingsway for many years and never had a negative experience. I have very positive memories of this cinema. Years ago it was the only cinema that screened silent and classic films. Some posters on here have made comments that patrons should take their business to Cineplex. I totally disagree. Most of the staff at Cineplex especially the Varsity and Yonge Street locations are extremely ill mannered, do not know how to serve customers with respect and are not accommodating towards persons with physical disabilities. On the matter of patrons who complain about their knapsacks, perhaps you should leave all that stuff at home anyways, you are there to see a film not to place your knapsack on the floor where others can trip over it or on a seat where a customer may wish to sit. I can count the many times that ill mannered patrons have behaved in such an ill mannered way towards myself and other customers, so leave your knapsack, your cell phone, your baby, your tennis rackets and the contents of your house at home. Follow the rules and grow up already and stop behaving like you are entitled to everything in the universe just because you purchased a movie ticket.By Randolph Ouimet, June 08, 2017
- ★ ★ ★ ★ ★Don't let media lies and race-baiters sway your opinion of this quaint local and independent theatre. Friendly staff and decent prices make visits to this establishment a real treat. Highly recommend.By N M, May 13, 2017
- ★ ★ ★ ☆ ☆I go here maybe once a year to watch a movie and as long as you are in the skin theater the place is pretty nice it's open and is usually quite. The theater would be better off playing old classic movies I saw blade runner last summer and really enjoyed watching it on the big screen. The ticket prices are high for the quality of the theater, for at least a year they had scaffolding up in the screening area. There are a lot of rules since the owner is power hungry, I was getting take out at Kingsway fish and chips down the street and he came crashing in yelling about how people were bringing food into his theater. What are the owner of fish and chips going to do about it that's not their fault. The theater is pretty cosy with bench seats in the waiting area and a outdoor patio in the summer. It's not a bad place to grab a quick beer or even a ice cream when they sell it during the warmer months. If it wasn't for the owner and the lack of good movies to watch I'd be here more often.By howtopeople, November 19, 2016
- ★ ★ ★ ★ ☆Love our local theatre. It was dormant for years until, thankfully, the current owner resurrected it. We are grateful for that. We attend regularly and appreciate the giant screen, the clarity of image and audio. Owner rightfully puts emphasis on movie quality and movie experience. (The whirring fan and the musty smell are the only drawbacks, and I am sure that they will be solved eventually.) Hope the theatre survives. I have never had any problem with the owner, but he needs to calm down with the comments and anger. If they continue, inevitably they will catch up with the reputation and success of the operation. KEEP COMING TO THE KINGSWAY TO ENSURE FUTURE SUCCESS OF THIS TREASURE!By Andrew B, September 08, 2016
